As above, really, what would a rebore, forged pistons and decent rods cost me?

 

Jeff, unless you are planning big power, a new 2.5ltr block and some drop in pistons will do the job nicely.

 

I've been advised that there are issues with clearances, and, unless I am planning on leaving it standard, to budget for the rebore etc.

Apparently Subaru will no longer warranty 2.5 litre engines fitted to 2 litre cars

 

Drop-in pistons only require that the bores are honed to size, and for road use the rods should be fine.... IMHO
