cheap power?
hi, i am looking to power up my scoob a bit but am on a limited budget having bought a 95 wrx wagon and spent most of my money getting brakes, suspension and other bits fixed on it, just wondering what the cheapest way to get some more torque out of it is? presume a remap exhaust and air filter?
at the moment it has this fitted and i have been told it is best to go back to a standard airbox with a panel filter?
i used to have a bugeye with a ppp pack which i think consisted of a remap intercooler hose and exhaust or maybe backbox which boosted power to 261 bhp and around 250 lb/ft torque so if i can get to that minimum i would be happy.
dont really want to go down the decat route if possable?
any advice greatfully recieved
cheers

A good service, cold plugs, good oil, cambelt, 71degree thermostat 440 injectors, decat/Sportscat and an ESL Remap. Air filter looks fine to me. All the early classics had from the air box is a very short snorkel drawing air from the wing, induction encased in a tidy box like that to the wing is nice IMHO. Biggest limitation is going to be your I/C.

A manual boost controller got my 93wrx from 244bhp to 270bhp it was set up on a rolling road to make sure fuelling etc was alright BUT it all depends on what your budget is really as the the mbc cost me £10 whereas the list that has been suggested above will cost you £700+ (i'm not saying there is anything wrong with the list though just in case anybody has a go at me )

what about a second hand td05 turbo(guessing its a tdo4 now) & a z4 ecu these can be picked up cheap or a polar performance ecu/scooby ecu? id say the induction kit will be fine no point in changing that as it looks covered from the heat unlike the usual induction cones, the arc induction boxes arn't cheap either

cheers for the comments guys, its just had a massive service including all you suggested at scoobyclinic.
its running 203 bhp and 212lb ft of torque, had it on the rolling road while being serviced.
budget is probably 3-400 pounds at the moment (may look at selling some parts to raise some cash if needed)
what is the z4 ecu?

z4 ecu is direct replacement 4pin ecu from a wrx saloon which produces 260ps roughly 255bhp, providing you upgraded your turbo that is to a tdo5h, the ecu's usually go for between £60 to £100 & the turbos between £100-£200 depending on the condition no play in the shaft etc
