removing flywheel & crank seal
hi all ive just removed my gearbox on my 94 wrx today for the first time which was an experience not looking forward to putting it back in, anyway i want to remove the flywheel to have it skimmed is it just a matter of cracking the nuts open i dont need to mark it anywhere at all? also what sort of job is it getting the crank seal off whist am at it? cheers in advance

I usually find the seal a pig to get out.. and usually drill very carefully two holes in the seal (it has metal inside it) and use two screws with the points blunted and screw them in and through until they touch the block which then slowly draws the seal up the threads of the screws and out / off the crank..
or just tug like a loanly monkey until the seal comes out using pliers.. just mind the crank surface and block face that the seal goes against etc..
