The cat should be in the downpipe, and JDM's only have 1 cat anyway
So your car should have a td04 Turbo as standard so its been upgraded from that, you could go for a full decat (remove the standard downpipe) and then remap again, 300bhp wont be a problem, and the gearbox, well to be 100% sure you would need to find the gearbox number, but sounds like a RA box if it runs out of steam at 130mph, plus get the brakes sorted, 2 pots are useless, my astra 1.9cdti has better brakes!

Yeah with the addition of a FMIC and with the mods on there already, 300bhp is there for the taking. The 380cc injectors will be getting a bit heavy on the IDC though. I'd defo get a decat downpipe too (£60-100), and some 440cc STi yellow injectors (£50-60)... Then it can be mapped to c.320-350bhp!

You know it makes sense...

Then you either have a new engine or an upgraded turbo either way it should be a TD04 as standard running 220ps

You have an STI wagon, not a WRX wagon as per the OP so yours will be different

I run a PP chip, fmic, de-cat down pipe and a dawes device, with a td05 1995 WRX Saloon. Got 303bhp / 290 ft/lbs. The dawes device set to give me the 1.1 bar the chip should have given me but was not quite getting there. Could probably eak a few extra ponies with a dawes tweak but would probably start to run a little lean on the 380's. At the moment still slightly rich (which is a charachteristic of the PP chip, rich to be on the safe side).

That's the final figure I am going for with this car (until the missus isn't looking and a forged engine just appears one day )

And before anyone asks - got gold Brembo's to replace the 2-pots

Nath, I'm guessing the Prova chipset in your ECU casing is non-mappable? And I'm also assuming you have a 1995 car (Wagon) with the "phase 1" coilpacks-on-plugs motor? I also assume you've bought a replacement TD05H 16g (because a MY93-96 WRX Wagon has the small TD04L as std)?

If so, you'd need to get a cheap(ish) Apexi PFC or ESL Live mappable ECU to replace your current ECU with and get all those mods listed mapped. You should defo get south of 350bhp if you have V-Power in the tank when mapped. My only 'concern' is the 440cc injectors; they could be squeezed a bit! Personally I'd stick some 550s (or greater) in there, so you'll KNOW there'll defo be enough fuelling. It'd be a crying shame for the mapper to have to hold back on the power because the 440cc wouldn't allow it, etc.

Yep, so 550cc+ injectors; an aftermarket ECU; remap on V-Power, and you should be somewhere near your 350bhp goal. Don't forget you'd need some form of IK kit with cone filter too.

Your green label MAF should be okay for that power -- I was at ZEN's earlier on in the summer and some chap was having his 1995 RA mapped with a big turbo/FMIC, etc, and it made 387bhp! on the OEM green label MAF. Indeed it was his MAF that prevented him from getting more! (If he had fitted a Z32 (or Q45) MAF then, IIRC, I think Paul said the chap's 'unknown' turbo would have made about 420-450bhp!!!)

I'm certain the Prova is just a non-mappble chip running about 1.1bar.

By all means fit a mappable ECU of yours/mapper's choice - and if MAFless then so much the better, as you won't have to worry about MAF failing and running lean (although it's rare on the early phase 1 MAFs). Also, it can't contribute to potentially hinder airflow by going MAFless.

Not sure if a 2001 STi has top feed or side feed injectors(?). You need side feed types... And yeah, 500cc+ will easily be able to net 350bhp.

You don't need replacement heads/cams for 350... Unless, of course, you're looking to future-proof for more power later...

Just stick to upto 350bhp and similar torque - as otherwise your std "TY752..." 5-sp, 4-bolt gearbox (the 'weak' one!) will be very much on borrowed time (depending on driving style). Don't forget your 'box, if original, is now at least 13y 9m old!!!
