Can anyone explain to me why some prodrive back boxes have the engraving on the silencer bit of the exhaust and other do not?

I would think the ones without prodrive stamped on the pipe are copies.

 

If the back box is supplied as part of the PPP package it comes with a round tailpipe embossed with 'Prodrive'. However you can buy a prodrive backbox seperately, however it will have an oval tailpipe and be marked with 'WR sport'.

 

Maybe the classic ones have it and the newage don't.
Mine has it on the tailpipe, MY00 classic.

Do they still make the same noise?

its just that i have seen some with the prodrive and other info on the silencer bit with prodrive on the tail pipe, and others with just prodrive on the tail pipe and no other information.

 

I have a genuine prodrive back box on my 99 classic its engraved prodrive.
cnat comment on any others you have seen.

 

scorpian make prodrive exhausts theres dont have any stamping exactly the same but no stamp!!
