Is there anyway of finding out what has been installed without taking one out?

MY99 Uk2000 Ver7

Going for more bhp, and need doing, but just looking at some on ebay, and some look different, dont want to end up getting the wrong ones.

Eh? What's that "ver7" thing mean? If you have an MY99 UK car you have 440cc injectors in there as standard. You should be able to confirm this, firstly because if you'd changed them yourself you'd know, and secondly because if you'd bought the car secondhand it's most likely that the seller would have told you.

Either way, the standard injectors are yellow in colour - and you should be able to see this if you look at them.

Going for more bhp, and need doing,
The standard ones are good for up into the 350bhp area. As you'll be needing a remap after an injector change, presumably your mapper will advise you on the best replacements to go for given that he'll know the full spec of your engine and what your power goal is.

but just looking at some on ebay, and some look different, dont want to end up getting the wrong ones.
The first, pink set you linked to are top feed injectors for the newage Impreza. The lower blue set will physically fit in your car, but there are six or seven good reasons why you shouldn't buy them, starting from the fact that they aren't that much higher flowing than what you currently have. Buying a secondhand set of injectors from Japan is possibly not the best way forward either.

If your mapper has recommended larger injectors, didn't he suggest the specific type?

They're the same as he's already got Ben.

If MY99 (manufactured between Sep 98 - Aug 99) then its associated "Version" would be "Version 5" or, as Subaru write it, "Version V" (Roman numerals). Even then, Subaru officially reserved it as a moniker only for the JDM STi variants.

"Version 7" doesn't actually exist as an official tag (Subaru dropped the "Version..." nomenclature after the Classic was phased out). But it is still 'affectionately' used by people - technically wrong! - to refer to the first New Age 'Bugeye' (MY01 i.e. from Sep 00 to Aug 03)

Your car was built with "Side Fed" injectors like the ones in your second link. The injectors themselves are pushed into the fuel rail and have a cap with 2x bolts on top to hold the injector in place... All classic cars (GC8) had this set up.

The injectors in the first link are called "Top Fed" & have the fuel rail sitting on top of the injector. This system was fitted to the New Age Cars (2001 on)
