Default Witch Diff setting

I have a 2006 STI and just wondered what setting people drive round with their diff set on, am i correct in saying the 2nd green box up from the bottom the one with the arrow in makes it more rear wheel drive and is that best for the road and track, cheers steve.

Eye of newt ?...another vote for Auto

What's best for you might not be what is recommended by others. Auto is by far the safest until you have had a little controlled play.

In Auto you benefit from the MY06 Yaw Sensor...

a new yaw-rate sensor, which detects the rate of drift in a corner 50 times per second, for this control. Using the sensor's data, the STi adjusts the torque split between front and rear axles between 35/65 per cent to 50/50. The adjustment is ultra-quick, too, thanks to a limited-slip front differential which reacts faster and more progressively. So the STi can both turn into a bend as if its life depends on it, and feel stable once in it.

The newcomer's other piece of electronic trickery is the Driver Controlled Centre Differential, or DCCD for short. This overrides the yaw sensor and lets you set your own drive split, using a thumbwheel mounted next to the handbrake.

I agree with the "controlled play". But after you have done your playing, it really depends on the road and conditions. Auto is always a safe bet. But it's there for a reason. Try it out and get used to whats best for what conditions.

Braver than me.

ATM I am running 27mm rear bar 20mm front on my Spec D, MY06 auto yaw sensor is earning its money whilst I get round getting the front on again.
