Default ecu question

I'm having trouble with anyone giving me an answer to this. I have a 97 uk wagon, the ecu code is 8S. I would like to know if a STI ecu would work if it was out the same year. I can get hold of a STI ecu with code 6S would it work, if not why.

Different turbo, possibly different size injectors ,internal spec of the STI engine is different (i.e. better)

I have a P1 STI turbo, I have 440cc injectors, as for the internal it's only the timing that may be the prob.

for it to work you will need matching turbo, maff, injectors, and swap some wires over as the uk ecus were wired slightly different to prevent people from putting a sti ecu and thinking it will work,
as for internal the cam timing is the same across the board for classics, however sti`s had different heads, cams, and pistons
