New clutch problem.
Just fitted a new clutch but when i press the clutch in and try select a gear it just grinds. I am not sure if this is from lifting the gearbox up to fit the motor or is this just a case of bleeding the clutch?
My missus is 8months pregnant and having light contractions so i need the car on the road incase i need to dash off to the hospital. Please guys any ideas?

If the old clutch was slipping but otherwise functioning okay, there shouldn't be any necessity to bleed it - although that doesn't 100% rule this out as a cause.
The obvious question to ask would be whether you've properly engaged the nose of the thrust bearing into the clip on the clutch cover. When you depress the clutch pedal does it feel "normal" or unusually light?

I fooked the release bearing on the old clutch when i put the motor back in the first time. This was a new clutch and bearing set up. If anything the clutch feels stiffer, just a bit. When i move the gear stick to select gears if feels really notchy, was not like that before.

Pedal travel feels like it used to. The first time i pushed the pedal it went down and stayed there though. After i lifted it up it was back to normal, well other than not allowing me to select a gear.
