Default swapping ecu's

am i correct in thinking that i can just buy a z4 ecu, install it and see power gains? i have an auto 95 wrx. i dont have a de-cat system or anything, just a different back box and better panel filter. how do these plug and play ecu's work??

A 1995 WRX should have a Z4 Ecu as standard (unless it is a wagon of course). If it is a wagon then you will need a td05 turbo as well.

The ecu's just un-plug / plug in, with the car battery disconected - 5 minute job.

i think the autos have a td04, not a td05. the z4 is made for a td05. also, as above i dont think a manual ecu will work in a auto car
