Default center or end thrust?

hi,
just cracked open a v3 sti engine and its a center thrust bearing crank, i must be having a blond moment as i thought the early engines were center and newer were end, am i wrong or is the block an early one?

Your not having a Blonde moment Phil,
Version's 1 to 4 are Centre Thrust and Version 5 onwards went over to Rear Thrust cranks.
