Default Which Scooby

Hiya guys im a new scooby owner, only got it on Saturday, im trying to find out a bit about it though. I'm not sure what model i have if i give u some info maybe u can help me.
Its a 1996 N reg import, 4 door, WRX Sti, its got ally suspension, ally bonnet and intercooler water spray, it has what i would class as a short ratio gearbox (low ratios) although this is the only scooby i have driven, and carbon sti front strut brace, it does not have a roof vent. is this a standard Sti or a Ltd edition they put out.
Cheers
Dave

Applied model code may help it's on the VIN plate

Based on the APPLIED MODEL number on you VIN plate you should be able to find out, your exact model type.

The 7 digit "applied model" code found on the vehicle identification plate inside the engine bay is decoded in the following way.
1.Series code G=Impreza S=Forester B=Legacy etc.
2.Body type F=Wagon C=Sedan
3.Engine type 8=2.0L Turbo
4.Year code A=MY93 B=MY94 C=MY95&96 D=MY97 (facelift) E=MY98 F=MY99 G=MY00
5.Number of doors 2=2 door coupe 4=4 door saloon 5=5 door wagon/hatch
6.Model type 8=WRX 7=RA type E=Sti D=Sti Type R & RA
7.Transmission D=5 Speed Manual AWD P=4 Speed Automatic AWD

Some of the special editions do have the same code though.

Perhaps posting some pictures up may also help.

Chances are its a version 2 STI, you have to understand that these need super unleaded fuel only, and like high maintenance (lots of oil changes at the correct service intervals, 7.5k OR 6 months, whichever is first, belts at 3 years OR 45k whichever is first, diff/gearbox oils every 2 years/30k whichever is first, so its easier to get them all done now also and you know where you stand
Brakes suck (normally 2 pots on the version 2's) and you will find that out after a few hard stops but go with what myblackwrx has put up there it will give you the exact model, but if it has no roof vent then it wont be an RA.
