Help, procedure for replacing front hub stud please
Help please, i have new wheels , but the stud on the front hub has been cross threaded and needs replacing, (many thanks to previous owner),
removed wheel to replace and found one completely stripped, i have a new stud and the manual (which does not cover this) i have a 1995 classic,
so, anyone know what the procedure is to replace the hub stud?

I have just done this on my 95 classic recently............remove brake caliper and caliper mounting bracket.....undo A.b.s reluctor ring , knock out old stud, wiggle new stud into hub , grease thread and use new nut to wind stud into hub..... reassemble in reverse order

An hour should easily cover it..... BUT.... be aware the reluctor ring is held to the hub with 5 allen bolts which might be siezed with rust..... I had to use oxy accetyline bottles to heat up the reluctor ring to free the allen bolts.....If you break the allen bolts off... its a bigger job... you,ll need to remove the front hub to replace the reluctor ring ( you only unbolt the reluctor ring to give you a bit of room to wiggle the wheel stud into the hub)

ok ... when you remove the brake disc you,ll see where the wheel studs sit in the hub.....between the wheel studs you,ll see an allen bolt between each wheel stud.... making 5 in total... they hold the reluctor ring to the hub
The reluctor ring is what the A.B.S sensor uses to sense a locked wheel.... bend or damage it even slightly and you,ll have the A.B.S warning light on , so be carefull
