Default Exhaust Heat Wrap

Have Just had the heat wrap delivered for my new manafold pipes, do i need to soak the wrap in water first or apply dry?
Have tried the dealer but he hasnt answered my emails....Thanks mate!!!!

What i bought :- Turbo Exhaust Wrap..100ft x 2" x 3mm LOTUS on eBay (end time 11-Aug-09 09:59:31 BST)

Help please, cos the car is going in first thing Friday for the fitting..

just wraped my new headers today took me 3 hours nightmare, just take your time make sure you got plenty of metel cable ties and i soak it in water first

why do you need 2 yet the heat wrap first?

Wetting it makes it shrink making it a tighter fit once it dries out.

Soak and wear cloves..

FWIW, as already said applying wet means once dry it will be really tightly wrapped.

Spray with VHT exhaust paint once finished, helps protect the wrap and semi waterproofs which prevents smelly moments when it's raining..

FWIW, harvey (or may have been Mark @ Lateral) said to apply the heat wrap DAMP, and not soaked...
