Default under bonnet head stuff ????

hi all i was thinking about removing all the manky heat proofing from the under side of the bonnet but will this affect the paint.
Im sure ive seen this happen before to other scooby and after so long the bonnet starts to peel.
Has anyone done this or does anyone have any advise

Mine was bad on my classic so I just took it off with no problems whatsoever. That was a year ago and it still looks good, there would have to be a rediculous amount of heat to affect the bonnet paint(I've done it on 5 cars so far over the years & no probs).
After you've taken it off you will need to give the bonnet some attention just to make it look sweet. I washed mine with a wet sponge, dryed off, T-cutted and then gave it a good old helping of quality wax. You could always re-cover the bonnet with heat reflective tape or similar if you wanted to. Goodluck, Gareth
