Default standard uppipe

i am changing parts prior to a remap is it possible to run with just the cat in the ported uppipe and do away with the one in the downpipe for the mot

Worst choice as it is the only one likely to damage your turbo if the thing fails.

Leave the down-pipe one on, or fit a sports cat if you MUST pass an MOT.

P.S. Reading your other thread, the V7 STI doesn't have a cat in the up-pipe.

3 OEM cats for a New Age: in up-pipe; in front downpipe section; and in rear downpipe section (between front downpipe section and centre resonated section):-



As you can see by what dunx has said, the one in the up-pipe is directly before the turbo's exhaust gas inlet -- so if the cat starts to break up...!!!
