Default Adjusting new actuator

Hi all i have just bought a new actuator for my 95 wrx which is adjustable.
By adjusting this will it lower/increase my boost or is it controlled electronically.
Whats the best way of setting it up as i dont have the old one to measure the lenth , i do have a boost gauge fitted.

shortening will increase boost lenghtening will decreace just make it hold standard boost and job done, you could have it done on a rolling road

Recently fitted a new one myself I adjusted it so that I had to pull it about 3mm before it went over the little peg. Mine set as it is without the actuator boost pipe attached will generate 22psi of boost. If you set it so it just hits standard boost you will find that its slow to boost up as it will escape through the wastegate, to tight and it will struggle to open it then overboost.

I use a air compressor to set mine up, just incase the boost gauge is out. Just set your regulator on the air compressor correctly for the pressure your require.
