Default Newage Harness Bar

Is it OK to use a harness bar & harnesses with the standard STi seats? Has anyone got any links to good places to buy one from?

Thanks

I haven't got a harness bar as my daughter sits in the back of my car but I do have a 5 point harness with my sti seats. I'm sure if you fit a harness bar you need a different type of harness?

USA is only place to get them really

try demon tweeks motorsports section and you'll find harnesses for cars such as caterhams etc, these use hooped straps for bar fitting as opposed to eyelets on long straps

Where have you bolted the straps in the back? Did you use the rear seat belt mountings?

I have replaced the normal bolts with eye bolts and I specifically bought a quality harness so the straps can just lie over the back seats when not in use.

Have you got any pics of how they fit in the back? I assume if you have people in the back you slacken them off so people sit on the strap and use the normal belt in the front is that right?

i did read somewhere that fitting a standard harness through seat holes and then mounting the straps directly down onto the floor behind the seat would/could be dangerous as in the event of an accident it wouldnt restrain the person and seat in the correct way.this is to do with the angle of the belt going to the floor (vertical).it would be better attached to rear seat anchor points but if you have children (as i did in my legacy)a rear b pillar bar would avoid the acute angle as it would pull horizontaly over the bar,you can still attach it to the floor leaving the kids free to belt up themselves.i hope i have explained it clearly enough lol
