turbo help

Sure. The one that says Garrett isn't a TD04, it's a Garrett turbo of some sort (i.e. non standard).
As far as your original question is concerned, there are probably thousands of different variations of TD04 turbo as this cartridge is used in all sorts of different cars from different manufacturers. At least as far as UK market cars are concerned, there are only two. There's the 90 degree inlet one used on early wagons, and then the later straight inlet one that's been used since '97.

No that'll be a VF series turbo of some sort. Again not standard for that car. If you look closely at the compressor cover you should see some small print telling you exactly what it is.

the actuator is near enough straight and it has IHI turbo curving around from the left...on the turbo just before it joins to the intercooler,
i can see a square section on the front just before its joins to the intercooler,
but that just looks blank i will have a real good look tomorrow and let you know thanks for you help mate
