Default possible oli leak, felp!!!!

hi all, ive got a 2002 wrx, checked the oil about 2 months ago (was fine) and decided to check it again today. to my horror it read below the low point on the dip stick, got it topped up asap, just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what may have happened, leak or car burning oil??? ive not noticed any oil patches under where the car is parked and no sign of smoke from it, could it just be normal? im currently out of a job so i cant afford to just send it to a garage so any help or clues would be great.

2 months... sweet jeebus, I have to check mine everyweek (burns a litre a week, 350 ish miles) but then mine is probably proper fooked the dealership are investigating.

My last car (05 wrx) used to burn a litre ish a month so doesn't sound too far off yours (if it was only down to the min mark on the dipstick). Depends on the miles you do I guess.

I should add I am a bit hard on cars, others on here have said they never burn any.

You need to check the oil level at least weekly to see if its using any oil and checking it regularly will reduce the risk of damaging the engine if the consumption is high.
