The original watermanifold between the left/right side heads (under the manifold in the picture below)

It houses the original sender unit, and next to it is either a plugged hole, or the casting is thicker there, which can be drilled and tapped for the Defi sender.
Watermanifold would have to come off for it, as you don't want metal swarf in your Coolant

Also (as I discovered while wiring up my Stack sensor) there are models that have both holes there, but already in use. My car (My98 Turbo) had seperate sender units already (one 2 pole connector for the original gauge and ECU, and a switch besides it for the Fan-turn on, which had 1 wire going to it.)

I managed to fit a later model sensor unit, which had the two sensors in one unit, thus freeing up the second hole for my Stack sensor.
This model plug has three prongs, in a triangular shape, of which the bottom one is the Fan control, the top 2 are for the original gauge(and ECU).

The 2 red sensors above the red circled part in the picture are my Stack oil, and Water sensors, right next to it is my home-made 3 pronged sensor (with silicone sealant to make the connection weatherproof

Bit of a bugger to explain, but If you have any questions let me know, and I'll try to explain it.
