My understanding is that the JDM is a better car all round.

The first 4 gears are the same, 5 and 6 are longer on the UK cars, the twin scroll unit is a real delight and these cars push out alot of torque as standard, also more BHP out of the box for the JDM car. So stock the JDM is the quicker, tuned on standard internals, the JDM is quicker, tuned on uprated internals, the 2.5 will start to fight back here as there are not that many hybrid twin scroll units yet

Drive By Wire or Cable Throttle.

Go JDM with cable IMHO, I have a DBW UK MY06 and I don't like it as a preference.

The V9 JDM 2.0 also comes with a nitrided coated cross drilled crank which is stronger and has better small end bearing oil delivery over the the Uk Sti EJ257 crank. So the JDM Sti is less prone to small end bearing failures. But both engine come with hypereutectic cast aluminum alloy pistons which are supposedly strong but crack easily when subjected to preigniton/detonation. Litchfield are in the process of developing a range of twin scroll turbo's up to 500 bhp.
