Can anyone tell me/confirm what rear diff should be on a version 4 STI type R. Is there a code or something for it?

It should have an R180 rear diff, just dont ask me where the code is as i dont know

It's an R180 with a 4.444 ratio.

R180 diffs have thicker drive shafts. Another tell tale sign is the distance between the two bolts that mount it to the rear diff. Should be roughly 180mm apart which is pure coincedence.

And does a version 3 STI (non DCCD) have a R180 diff as well?

 

Sorry mate I missed some essential info out there. If you at at your diff from the rear of the car the back of the diff has two bolts that attach the diff to the rear cross member. It's these that are 180mm apart.

Non DCCD's have the smaller R160 Diff and are of a 3.9 ratio.
