is the sti v7 intercooler a straight swap for my wrx v8 one on my 03 blobeye ? is it a case of unbolt wrx one and refit the sti one with no mods ?
is the sti one bigger or deeper or whats the difference ?

 

Yes, and no.

You'll need a new lower hose as the WRX one will not fit with the STi intercooler. I used the Samco ones for mine as they make it easier to fit as they are more flexible.

Loosen the bracket on the block to the intercooler to gain some play so it lines up before refitting.

You'll only get the full benefit with an STi bonnet scoop and undertray.

 

Just make sure you get the turbo to IC assembly with STI TMIC.

why do you need the untertray ? is it different to a wrx one ? i thought it was cooler and scoop that were different !
and is the sti cooler bigger or deeper etc ?

 

The STi undertray has a bigger cut-out area to match up with the STi IC.
The STi IC is longer and wider than a WRX model.
