Default STI intercooler on a uk turbo

hi,

Just fitted a sti intecooler to my uk turbo.

It does feel like it pulls a lot harder.

Is there a bhp increase or is it all in my mind?

Cheers

It's true to say that you would need a remap to get the most out of your upgrade but it is not true to say that you'll need a remap to spot *any* differences.

There should be a power increase of some sort, due to the cooler (denser) intake charge and the lower pressure drop across the I/C, along with possible side benefits like a reduction in knock correction. Impossible to say how big this increase would be without putting the car on a rolling road in both "before" and "after" configurations, but, noticeable or not, there should be a difference, so while some of it may be in your mind, some of what you're feeling is likely to be real.
