Default V4 STI engine

Long story short.........

I've recently had a recon engine put into my V4 STI. It had new bearings e.t.c and I had a SIMTEK fitted and mapped to the De-cat and filter. The engine was run for 600 miles on 10w40 semi and I have swapped that out for Millers 10w60 fully synth (new filter), there were no filings on the sump plug. After a bit of hard driving the engine became "tappety" and hasn't stopped since, theres also a little piston slap that goes away when it warms up (the slap has started since I put the Millers in). Is this a common thing on the V4 and something of concern? Is there something I can do about it? I plan to fit a TD05-20G, injectors, FMIC and Walbro 255 and remap it to suit, will this lead to further problems with the tappet noise?

TIA
Andy.

I would try changing oil to something a little thicker this may help. Or if you really want to try it drop back to the the 10/40 and see if it still slaps.
