Ok so after upgrading

Shocks (ohlins) + springs (tein s-tech)
24mm adjustable rear ARB + DL (whiteline)
22mm adjustable front ARB + DL (whiteline)
Front upper strut brace (Sti Carbon)
Rear upper strut brace (Sti)

What would you go for next in aim of stiffening up your classic scoob and why?

H Brace?
rear lower brace?
T-braces?

would love a cage, but how much do they weigh? and will it really stiffen my car up?

 

Surely your motors a good ride as it is? Or is there something you feel is lacking?

 

got superstreet coilovers on my classic and have recently put the lower rear brace and H brace on and didn't notice any difference to ride(nice shade of blue though).i think the way to go to stiffen it up is probably nylon bushes and uprated anti roll bar's.

have you poly bushed it at all ?
these really make a difference.

 

Baly - no doubt it will handle, but surly there is still going to be chassis flex, ok reduced a tad by the upper strut bars!

dee052- will an antil lift kit stuffen the chassis up

stig - not poly bushed up no just drop links and still steering rack bushes to do. big expenensive job though isnt it polybushing!

 

After fitting the hardrace anti lift kit I noticed flatter cornering and sharper steering (though I fitted uprated steering bushes at the same time).

 

worth the investment would you say?

What issue are you trying to solve?

Stiff suspension isnt always better.

Another consideration for 'stiffness' is locking down opposing forces that fight eachother when accelerating breaking, turning spinning etc lol.

Things like hard engine mounts, solid pitch stops, diff locks, sub frame locks make a huge difference. The more the car can move as one the better.

Hi Duncan...Edited to say I run standard classic STi springs which do an awesome job helped by the chassis mods around them.

Mine runs possibly the softest spring set up known to the coilover world ... 24 mm front arb, 25mm rear plus some really good modifications done by Paul at Zen. SN myth wont go into these (or know about them in most cases). It handles ok

My advice would be get the car down to Zen before spending anything.
