Im going to fit my FMIC in the next week so I need a new filter and just wanted peoples views on which type they used and why?

I'm also at a bit of a crossroads with regards to which filter. I'm tempted to make a custom made jobbie by relocating the standard air box behind the bumber or something.

I have heard alot of horror stories about killed maf's from induction kits.

what im in the middle of doing is putting the k&n behind the bumper where the resi box used to sit the running some good flexi from there through the hole in the wing to the maf. i also removed the resinator box next to the maf. ill get some pictures up as soon as it done but it aint to hard at all.
also to get more air in i have made a feed from the brake air feed.

this was the doner k&n of ebay

IMPREZA TURBO K&N INDUCTION KIT 93-97 EJ20 STI/RA/WRX on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-May-09 18:44:13 BST)

this is the cold air feed pipe , its got to be 2 ply or it will split

heres some pictures, you'll get the idea. could be done with most air filter kits but this was a good price and quite a big filter.

I wanted a larger filter so i went for a Powertec induction filter for an RS500 Cosworth, SFS silicon 103-89mm reducer and Viper Performance silicon 76mm to intake pipe. I also heat wrapped the intercooler pipework. All parts were supplied by Milsport

yes seem a pretty good kit .

the thing i wanted to do was to run the air filter completley free from the heat of the engine thats why i went for it in the position its in , its suposed to add more hp with cooler air.

anyways good luck with yours

cheers carl
