98 STi ECU in a 98 WRX...Will it work?

Hi...I have a 1998 WRX wagon and was wondering if i bought a 1998 STi ECU would it fit in my car and work ok without causing any serious problems,and what kind of power increase would i see if any,my car has a full decat system but no other mods...THANKS.

It will fit but you have a different turbo (the ecu will most probably not like that).

also different cam profiles,different boost settings etc etc

Not a worthwhile mod by any means but it will physically fit yes,whether it runs ok is a different matter
