Default exhaust advice needed

my down pipe needs replacing asap....was gonna replace it with a stainless one with a sports cat (ninja one from scooby world possibly) was wondering if anyone has done this and if its a good upgrade or not.....also any advice on where to get one or a recommended make (not got an a huge budget)

any advice appreciated. ta

ps. car is a 98 sti import, already got de cat centre section and back box.

im using the ninja sports cat and been a good puchase.it is a well made bit of kit,a little bit expensive but worth it.

did you notice any increase in power? noise?

also.....do you have to heat wrap like a de-cat?

its not heat wrapped and it gained 32 bhp and 70lbft(with decat mid section and aftermarket backbox) with an ecutek remap.you probably wouldnt notice that much difference without a remap,it may just boost a little more,it gave my car a much nicer note from exhaust but it was not overly loud.so obviously after the remap the car was much quicker and sounded better.u may find if u put the sports cat downpipe on without remap it might put the check engine light on.
