1st subaru!!!
hi guys im goin to look at my first subaru thursday and because im pretty new to this i wanted to know from the more experianced of u, is there some stuff to look out for so i do not buy a rat !!!??? its a 1998 subaru impreza 2000 i think, it has a tdo5 turbo, front mount ,cossie actuator, short shift, ive been and looked at it once briefly and sounds and looks mint he says its only running 8 psi is this not good ?? ive been told to watch out for people turning the psi down so it doesnt smoke like a a steam train, ive been told to look at the turbine in the turbo to c if its loose, am i on the right lines apart from the usual checks, many thanks guys hope ya can help

td05 is not the standard turbo on a 98 UK car, td04 front entry is standard.
0.8 psi is not correct are you sure he didn't mean 0.8bar?
Test drive it before buying,warm her up nicely then give it some boost (with the owners permission of course).

1 bar = 14.5 psi
td05 isn't an aftermarket turbo as there were fitted to early imprezas,it must have been converted to front entry as they have a 90deg elbow on the front,i'm not sure but i would doubt the ecu would be happy running the turbo so he may have had the car remapped
