Sensor Problem! Help!
Right,
Check engine light is on, Put the car into diag (connected the 2 green and 2 brown connectors under dash), and found the fault was code 33 (speed sensor 2)
Now, replaced sensor, and put into diag again, drove in diag mode, and nothing showed up, then suddenly, code 33 came back on again
.
Now im a bit stuck why this is happening, as I have looked at wiring from sensor, and all looks good.
Now I have disconnected the sensor in question, and there is no engine light, no faults, so I guess its another duff sensor? or the wiring in between, or possible even a gearbox fault?. God, this is going nowhere fast

Please if anyone has had anything like this happen to them, or knows any more idea's or information, please let me know!
. I want my full power back!
Cheers
Peter

Have gone through the ecu reset. And to be honest, the car worked fine for a little white. Then out of the blue, a engine light came on temporarily, seemed I had a hesitation while this was on. Then it went off and I was back to normal. Then again out of the blue I was restriced to 4500RPM, Went into diag again and only fault showing was speed sensor fault.
Reset once again, and I had another while driving normally, untill speed sensor fault came back again.
Noting this happens at whatever rpm, sometimes at wide open throttle, sometimes just rolling along.
To be honest, this is really bugging me now, and i just wanna drive without a light anymore.

Check all the connections in the engine bay as well and maybe clean the earths. I had a wierd intermittent problem that saw me replace the throttle position sensor and the idle control valve (£££!) on the basis of the codes.
Turned out to be water dripping from the blanked off bonnet vent and getting into one of the main engine loom connectors by the battery...

Actually the light came back on.
Took Dash out to find wire from speed sensor wire from ecu that had been spliced to speed converter had been cut by previous owner.
I belive they took an alarm out of the car, and cut every non standard wire, even found the rear fog wire cut, for no reason.
Anyways, wired everything back up, and all is perfecto!.
Thought i'd just post my final findings, in case anyone else has same problem
Cheers
