Default Differential

On the classics does the differential alter, for instance if you tried getting the back end out would it feed the power to the back?

Can you alter the differential manually on any of the Subaru's?

Hope that all makes sense.

Thanks!

No it wont help you get the car back in control thats what driver training is for.

Yes you can alter the diff on the cars fitted with DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Diff) or A-DCCD (Auto Driver Controlled Center Diff)
Basically the Classic RA's and Type R's had the DCCD and the newage Blobeye STi's had the A-DCCD
Im sure someone will correct me if im wrong

I wasn't worried about my ability to control the car, i was simply wondering how the differential works, say if you did a wheelspin, would all 4's spin or what? The same question as if you got your back end out with the rears spinning, what would the fronts be doing? Get what i'm trying to establish?

Thanks

Yes all 4 wheels would be spinning in both situations. Its not say like a Nissan Skylines 4 wheeldrive system which sends more power to the front as the rear looses grip
