Apart from a Subaru filter, what other air filters are there for the SF 1998 Forester(same as classic impreza) that are a dry type. I don't really think that the oil types such as K&N, Green Cotton etc really do the hot wire maf much good. I used to have an Sti dry filter fitted but they came out quite poorly in a mag' flow test I recall.

Green also do a slightly cheaper paper on that don't need oiling - these are stocked by many Subaru specialists, and are widely used by many Impreza owners (me included).

(I think it's TSL that stock the oiled cotton version of the Green)
