Am I one of the lucky few that has overtime at work at the moment and I am using the money for a re-map (Junes wages I hope)


I have a 97 Type R and I am thinking of going the Simtek route as I like the idea of being MAF less.

I hope to have £600 to £800 this month for mods before the re-map next month.

The car is standard at the moment so I'll need....

Uprated Fuel pump - £100 ish
Front De-cat (I have the center done already)- £? Whats a good one with proven gains

What else should I be looking at and should I hold out for anything thats really going to help me that costs more?

I don't have a target for the power, just whatever I can get. But I don't want to start stressing gearbox and stuff. (I have no idea what power is save to run)

If you view my garge i have the same year car and i,m running 347/346.

The gearbox is and has been fine for about 15k miles of this power, well i say this power, it was 330/330 for most of that but you get my drift.

Your injectors are 440cc so they,ll be fine for 330-340 clutch maybe an issue, again depends how you drive.

Gearbox will be ok aslong as you don,t launch, or be TOO aggressive with them.

You,ll more than likely be around 310+ mark once mapped, i have the VF34 Turbo on mine hence my power levels, but again, that,s pushing this turbo tbh..

Who,s going to do the Simtek and mapping for you??

Thinking of paying APi a visit for Simtek
