A mate of mine has the following spec:
UK MY99 with standard Engine Internals & Gearbox
Full Decat (2.5")
APS FMIC
APC CAIK
SIMTEK ECU
MD312H
PE 550 Injectors
GT SPEC II Headers & Up-Pipe
Oil Catch Can
He gets 1 Bar at 3500RPM when he does a foot flat on the accelerator in 4th gear from about 1800RPM.
Anyone else get this or better or worse??? Interested to see what others get as it looks like its pretty slow spool?

best of luck to him, he may be a exception to the rule but standard internals and gearbox i would of thought that will be waiting to go pop let alone the clutch slipping if has not been upgraded
fair played for the ***** to give it a go though

Stevie,
Are you confusing the 1st, and second post ? all we know about the original poster, is the car's getting 1bar by 3500rpm.
I would consider that to be a lot slower than normal. Check to see if there are any leaks in the pre-turbo exhaust, or intercooler pipework. It would also be worth asking the mapper for some feed back about the waste gate duty cycle, to see if that indicates anything.
Mark.

Yes it is a risk on standard engine & internal, dont worry mate he's been around the Scooby scene a while and is well aware of the issues running an aggressive turbo on standard internals.
Running a conservative 1.4 Bar max boost I believe and dyno'd at 375/335 at Surrey RR.
Mark is there any other symptoms that would occur with the points you've raised, would it be just slow boosting or perhaps accompanied by other issues such as spikes, jerkiness?
You dont see any issues running the GT Spec II Headers & Up-Pipes? Too big or narrow etc.
Doesnt get anything like that but when it does go into full boost it does fly.

From memory , when I was running an H on my standard JDM STI 2l (new age) it made about 1.0 bar at 3k and peak boost of 1.6 bar around 3.7k. That was on standard pump fuel.
1 bar at 3.5 does sound a bit slow on spool
