Default Zerosports ECU

Hi all i have recently bought a MY96 STi import and it has come with a zerosports ECU. I was just wondering what the benefits r with this ecu over a standard sti unit? Is it remappable? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sami

is it a standalone ecu or is it a chip in the original ecu?
Benefits all depend on how it's been mapped (i would expect it's been mapped for 100ron fuel)

a lad i know is running a zerosports ecu in his wrx and made 290bhp on the rollers at 1 bar of boost, but has the rev limit set at 7800rpm, cant see the ecu you are running having any more gains over the standard one

what you need to do is open up the ecu and look on the mother board for a 28 pin eprom chip/ chip holder. it maybe sodered directly 2 the mother board. if it has some type of chip on there then it can be mapped.

I will have to open it up tomorrow night to see if it can be mapped buddy and will get back to you guys as soon as possible. If it does have a chip on there who will be able to map it?

I connected a boost gauge to the car and it was running at 0.9 bar of boost. Is it 0.78 standard? for a standard STi 3?

STI 3 is a different kettle of fish and cant be mapped/chipped directly as it has no expansion port, this problem will be solved as soon as ESL release their solution for the version 3 onwards other than that its a simtek/apexi for you.
