VF29 to VF35 - big difference?
My RA has a VF29 and currently many favour the VF35. Coupled with an FMIC and ECUTEK or SIMTEK would there be a big difference between the 29 and the 35?
Just a hypothetical question really. Not really looking to go faster just yet, its quick enough

Thanks. The car already has ECUTEK software and the only reason for wanting the SIMTEK is for the cosmetic ALS so probably alot of money just to make it pop and bang.
I do want the FMIC to keep the temps down so might just get that done and have the ECUTEK remapped to suit. The car is plenty fast enough for me just want to make it as reliable as possible. Its got a K&N induction kit which makes me a bit nervous.

Edd I'm getting my MY99 car simtek mapped (no ALS or launch control) this weekend. Purely going to Simtek because of the better characteristics of the ECU over the Ecutek'd dtd ECU route, mafless, better boost control etc.... Will let you know how I get on.
For peace of mind I would defo consider the simtek then to get rid of the maf sensor. You could try the sti8 tmic, rather than a fmic as your power level.
You will also probably make slightly more power on the simtek, as the ignition advance can be mapped in quarter degrees on the simtek where as the ecutek maps in one complete degree.
This allows you to get closer to det point and maximising power output, while still being safe. I know what you mean about aALS
Banny

Cheers chaps. NS - I'll look forward to your report!
Theres a 2nd hand simtek in FS section right now. With SIMTEK will it lose its ODB connection? I ask because if so the PSi3 data thing won't work and would at least help fund the simtek.
