Smile Help! bits for my car, induction kit, backbox

right, here is the deal.
subaru impreza awd 1999 v reg 2 litre non turbo sports wagon

now if you guys dont think that any of this is worth it or can give me some recomendations that would be great.
Forced air induction kit, now this is one im a bit suck on. i can find loads for turbo verision but very few for non turbo and all these are either universal ones or non brand ones, does this make a differnce? i know brands liek k&n are gooduns but are they that much better? also would a cheap one do any damage to my engine? as a 1999 it also seems to fall into the bracket of the kits going from "1993 to 1998" and from there to "00-08" wich kinda confuses me. but yeah if anyone know a good one to get then let me know!
heres a few i found on a good ol ebay search:

SUBARU IMPREZA 97-01 NON TURBO AIR FILTER INDUCTION KIT on eBay, also, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 02-May-09 16:19:32 BST)

90-01 SUBARU IMPREZA NON TURBO AIR INDUCTION KIT on eBay, also, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 27-Apr-09 22:48:48 BST)

PIPERCROSS INDUCTION KIT Subaru Impreza (GC) 2.0 Sport on eBay, also, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 02-May-09 08:46:35 BST)

there was also some k&n 57 i thing for a bit more cash

Next back box, it has a gay *** silencer on the back, so we need bigger, im thinking like a 4 inch? what do you reckon? ive seen these ones on ebay that you get like custom made for 50 quid but that seemed a bit dodgy to me. and as its a wagon does it make a differnce, again theres lots of ones off turbos or sti's does that change them? and again the up to 1998
if any of you guys can help that would be awesome
cheers! andy

Personally i wouldn't bother, your not going to feel any worthwhile gains for your £££'s. If its in need of a new air filter then fit a KnN or Green panel in the OE airbox not an IK as you will almost defo lose power.
Best advice, save and get a WRX or STi, you wont be happy until you do
