Default Spark Plugs for 2006 2.5 WRX

Hi.
In the next couple of weeks i'll be changing my TD04 to a VF43 with an Sti tm intercooler,255lt fuel pump and a remap. At the moment i'm running 280bhp with the stock spark plugs, will i need to change them for a different temp plug for around 350bhp, if so can you recommend a spark plug i should use and what gap to set them at.

Cheers Stuart.

Try this place:
Mister Solutions Contact Us

They were about £45 when I bought them last year and seemed to be the cheapest I could find.

Why a VF 43?
i am doing the same 280bhp/340ft/lbs now going to fit a VF 34 have been told that is best for a 06 2.5 then should be around 350bhp/400 plus ft/lbs
no need for a STI top mount till you are going for 400 BHP

http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/turbo/ihi_turbo.htm (intresting)

I,ve just sold my car with a VF34 on, great spooling turbo, was running 350/350 pretty much maxed out tbh, VF43 is a better option imo...

VF34

The VF34 is nearly identical to the VF30, with the same exhaust housing and compressor. However the VF34 goes back to the ball bearing design, and in doing so achieves full boost approximately 500RPM sooner than the comparable VF30. The VF34 is the most recent IHI design and as such costs slightly more than its counterpart. Top end performance and maximum output are identical to the 30.

Anyone have info on the VF 43 Thanks
Hi. The VF43 is off the 06> 2.5 STi and is capable of 380bhp with the right mods, it's like the VF39 but with a bigger waste gate to stop boost creep.
The one i got has only 10k miles on it

Found this site IHI VF22, VF34, VF39 and VF43 bolt-on turbos for 2002-07 WRX & 04-09 STi, JSC Speed 02-07 WRX & 04-09 STi Turbo

330bhp and the wrx tmic is at its limit, and i think you are getting your nm's and ft.lbs confused
