Default Impreza rally car problems...help!

Hi there ,i own an evo 6,but my old man has an impreza rally car, which is a bit poorly

I was told this was the place to get some good advice...so here goes!

Problem 1

The impreza is a 1994 (m reg) RA.....with simtec ecu,switchable antilag....exhaust,filter,front mount cooler,dump valve.

My dad, hasnt long owned the car,and booked it in for a trackday at oulton park last week...all was going well till after dinner when he said it felt like hitting a brick wall every acceleration (boost or fuel cut??)

Then it was blowing intercooler pipes off,all afternoon .....without spending loads of dosh, has anyone any ideas??

It has been mapped to run 1 bar. (steve simpson)...no boost gauge.

Problem 2

After the trackday,he bought a turborevs full intercooler kit...which the pipes dont fit anywhere near??!! (he has no aircon, which is correct)...anyone got one of these kits??

Thanks for any help,as the poor old sod is gutted!!

I'd start by checking the ECU for fault codes. If that throws up nothing then clean the boost solenoid out with some brake cleaner. When does the fuel cut come in? at peak torque or somewhere else in the rev range.

Can't help on the intercooler issue - is the kit for the correct model year of car?

Cheers
Rob

Thanks for reply..the boost/fuel cut comes in half way through the rev range, and then eventually blows a boost pipe off.

Stumped!

Sell the Turborevs one and get a Hybrid GT Spec. These are very well made, fit, look good and work!

Get it from harvey and you know you've got a pukka one. You will need a cone
IK though... and may have to fabricate some extra pipework if retaining the OEM recirc DV (no big deal).
