Standard Boost Value
Does anybody know the standard boost pressure mapped on a 1997 V3 Sti import.
My car has had loads of problems and its being remapped, but I want it mapped to the highest safest possible pressure the car can handle.
I would like it mapped at standard pressure so I can see a read out on the dyno and then the max safe boost pressure and see the difference.
By the way, the car is completely standard.

i take it your changing your ecu then as the 97/98 version 3/4 cars can't be mapped.
the mapper will sort you out with what is the safest, using det cans, how the engine takes it etc. i think if you want a general idea of boost a lot of people run 1.3/1.4 bar with a small amount of upgrades (fuel pump etc).
not sure what the standard boost pressure for a sti is i know its 0.7 bar on the wrx, i think for the sti it's 1 bar but i'm sure somebody will correct if i have it wrong. i'm no expert just had my last 3 scoobys mapped.
Your mapper will be by far the best person to advise you whats best for your car, only 2 tips i will give you is do any upgrades now before the mapping so you don't have to pay for it again later, oh and most important you will be amazed at the difference after.

Yeah, I'm certain the STi v.3 is 16psi (1.1bar):-

FTR, MY97 WRX has prob the same 1.1bar, as all MY97 WRX and STi v.3 saloons have the same output i.e. 280PS...
