Default heat shield.. any need??

As above.. ive just taken my manifolds off and had a issue with one of the nuts soo had 2 cat the manifold to remove it! was a ballache! anywhooo is it worth me replacing them or will i be ok to leave them?

i just left mine off, it seems fine. Other people just simply wrap them in heat wrap instead of putting the shields back on

Shaggy are they the two that are accesable from below as i have just had to remove mine as they started to rattle and really started to get on my t*t*.

Just awaiting from any comments as if they do i need a pair also.

yeh their the ones! mine where seized on lol.. i might just leave mine off for the mean time and see how it goes.

In the same way that you want to cool the charge air to the engine (FMIC/manifold insulators etc) you need to keep the exhaust charge as hot as possible before it reaches the turbo. Heat is energy.

Some scientific bod will be along shortly to tell you exactly how much power you will lose per degree C drop in temp. Probably not a fantastic amount but every little helps
