pipes running across top of inlet manifold
HI guys bit of a Scooby newbie.I have been into old skool VW`s for years and always had a hankering after either a 96 Series Mc Rae or the later Catalunya edition anyway the couple of Catalunaya`s I`ve seen seem to have two red hoses/pipes running across the top of the inlet manifold stopping in the middle into like a a junction box kind of thing.Whereas the Mcrae doesn`t.Can anyone shed any light onto what these are/do? Thanks in advance
not sure what the pipes are for off hand without seeing a picture, the reason why there is a difference is the mcrae is a earlier model impreza (based on a v1-2), and the catalunya is based on v3, which had revisions to the engine ancillaries lay out
Is the OP refering to the MY97 Catalunya's small rectangular black plastic coilpack on the inlet manifold with the four convential red-orange HT leads from it? The McRae, being a MY93-96, obviously doesn't have this (coilpacks on plugs - out of sight).
