What rear silencer do you have,
you maybe able to get a bung to fit into the tail pipe which should quieten it down a bit.

I had the same problem, so went for a Fujitsubo system. They are quite often for sale on here second hand.

Old Blitz Nur Spec R was 110+db, the Fujitsubo is 87db

Fujitsubo are very quiet
also may be worth visiting someone like powerflow and you could then have your current system modified with maybe larger rear silencer to quieten it down

Revolution Performance Motorstore :: Alloy Wheels, Tyres, Auto Performance and Styling Parts

Check these guys out. They specialise in impreza's. Apparently they make the most powerfull exhaust system you can buy for an impreza (took a standard wagon from 218 to 265)

I've just bought a full system including decat and 4.5" slash from them for 555 all in. They do a choice of a 4" inward roll tail pipe or a 4.5" slash cut

The guy at the shop had the inward roll, without the decat and it was quiet. he'd had his on track with no problems

I'v not fitted my system yet but i'll keep you posted on how loud it is!
