hi all

yesterday i fitted a scorpion 3.5" back box to my 2001 bugeye
when taking it for a drive it emits a high pitch whistle around where the turbo kicks in and fades out around 4500 rpm!
its amusing in a way but would prefer it if i didnt have to wolf whistle every time i put the lead boots on!

is there anything i can do to muffle it coz the back box does sound good other than that

I'm no expert but whistling from the turbo does not sound good to me
Maybe you should get it checked out, I don't think it should be doing that

 

been down to subaru 4 you and spoke to len and he mentioned back in 99 there was a batch of back boxes that lancasters were selling that did exactly the same thing and said that it is fine. he said i could try a more restrictive centre section that would balance out the more free flowing back box and cancel the sound out, but with that it eliminates any performance gains from the rear box,
i think i'll live with it til i come across a better system when funds are up again!
