I don't know what it will go to but I run one at 1.55 bar = 22.78 psi. Certainly enough for any standard internals.

I don't think a VF35 will trouble 550's.

I was running 1.65 bar of boost with my old vf35, I maxed out the sti 550 injectors before the turbo, I was running 370 bhp 360 lbs ft using a 10% mix of methanol

Where are you guys reading the 1.55bar from, it's just that is the limit that the ECU will display.

A good VF35 is 360 bhp on V-Power plus 1ml/l of NF. Give or take a little bit for individual specs. Pinks generally get nearer to 400 bhp and will do around that with a slight pressure increase.

^^ sorry to be such a nweb but what do you mean "pinks"??

I have been advised that fitting an apexi avcr will help in stabilising boost pressure and keep it stable in each gear
is that true?.....what benefits does fitting the avcr do when having a remap? is there any need to fit it .....ps: i have a 2.5 newage sti

550cc injectors are PINK

I think yours are blue on the 2.5 STi. I could be wrong dude?

Juicep1 : What car do you have??? P1??? Standard internals???
On an engine with standard internals ie rods and pistons, there is a limit to what you can run safely in terms of boost. That limit will depend on what car you have and how brave, foolish or consevative you are.
The turbo will operate to a particular boost level beyond which it looses efficiency and starts to create a lot of hot air. I don't have a VF35 compressor map so I don't know what a sensible boost level for that turbo is but I would be surprised if it was beyond 1.5 bar. Running a New Age STi, P1 or Classic STi beyond 1.5 bar is very brave and with the WRX variants I would tend to run a little bit less but a lot depends on engine condition and the manner of driving.
New Age STis are fitted with pink top feed injectors and these are variously described as 500, 505, 510 and 550cc. These are good for nearly 400 bhp in the right circumstance and are a common mod for New Age WRX when a bigger turbo is fitted.
The P1 has yellow 440cc phase 2 injectors and these will max out between 320 and 350 bhp. These are side feed injectors and an upgrade for cars with grey 380cc injectors (Classics).
Obviously you cannot change turbo or injectors without a remap.

Hi harvey, sorry for my confusing name, should have cahnged it really when i bought my car
i own a hawkeye sti and yes have standard internals.....so does that mean im running 550cc injectors?..im running a VF43
whats the difference between the VF43 and the VF35 (just so i know, im not looking to change it)

been advised that the newage ecu is pretty good and doesnt really require the avcr, a 3 port boost solenoid will do with a remap.

The 2.5 STi with VF43 has 550 injectors and with an Ecutek remap and some other mods you will be very impressed with the improvements available. You do not need an AVC-R but a 3 port boost solenoid would help (New,with fittings, £60 plus postage) and can be fitted immediately prior to the map. We did work on one of these 2 weeks ago and both the owner and mapper were most impressed.
I don't have any information on the VF43 in terms of comparison with the VF34 and 35 but will see what I can find out for you. What I can tell you is that the VF43 on the 06 STi UK did 1 bar at 3000 rpm in 4th or 5th gear before any work was carried out and after fitting a turbo capable of over 400 bhp spool to 1 bar was still 3000 rpm and this was further improved with mapping.
Obviously on standard internals there is a limit to the boost you can run on your car.

I should also have said that 650 injectors were needed on the car above in place of 550 to get it to the 400 mark.
