Default erratic idle, and erratic / no boost

as above, what could be the likely culprits?

just had car go nuts and run real rough last night, check engine light came on, and it showed 24 idle control valve. took it apart best i could sprayed it with brake / clutch cleaner, the light hasnt come back on, but car runs as above realy bad.

will idle even for a bit then slowly drop down the revvs. basically can idle at almost any rpm, usually not far off what its ment to, but often drops to 500rpm and on verge of cutting out.

would this expalin trhe bad boost aswell? i.e when on bosot the power suddenly drops nad it stops accelerating/ just loosing all power.

it has dropped off power and stayed around .4 bar of boost even with accelerator to the floor and lots of juddering.

Could all this be down to the ICV, or something else causing the boost issues,

what are the likely culprits?

thanks simon, your the man.

going to fit standard recirc on, had a really old blitz one on there.

see if it cures it.

Whats the best way to look for leaks?

by examining all pipework? from intercooler to all the small map sensor pipes? anywhere else?
