Default Coilpack problem???

I have a MY 2003 STI PPP, it is using more fuel than usual and feels and sounds as if it may be running on 3 cylinders, it feels as if its holding back until the turbo get going, it is not starting as good as it should do either,

I have changed the plugs for new ones and out of the ones that came out 1 was a bit sooty. I have also cleaned the MAF sensor.

If one of the coilpacks is faulty would these be the symptoms? and would a dealer workshop be able to pick this up on a diagnostics computer?

cheers

Anybody got any ideas?
