Not 100% certain this is in the correct section, but here goes...

I've recently bought a new car with a 3" stainless exhaust on it.
TBH it's too noisy so I took it to a garage to take a look and see what could be done to make the thing quieter.

One of the recommendations he made was to stick a CAT on it where at this point I didn't realise it didn't have one!

So I contacted the original owner and asked him if he could send me the missing CAT and advised I would pay for any postage. He agreed to send it but over 2 months later I still don't have it.

Does anyone know if it's legal or not to sell a car without a CAT (I'm certain it probably won't pass an MOT without it)?

Any help / info appreciated
